Construction Progress

The new expansion continues to move along nicely. The roof is complete, the siding is going up, electrical, plumbing, fire, HVAC, and interior framing are all well underway. The Library's Construction Management Committee and Interior Designer continues to make decisions on a variety of items such as: side walk pavers, stair treads and hand rail systems, interior tiling and patterns, carpets, and finalizing the lighting fixtures. We anticipated the expansion to be completed this summer.

The Library also has plans to restore the historic entrance to the Carnegie building in May/June 2009. The current two sets of aluminum doors will be replaced with new exterior wood & glass paneled doors and interior french doors that will match the original door design of 1903. The vestibule will be pushed out about 1 1/2 feet and the front steps will be reconstructed to bring them in compliance with current building codes.

Here are some pictures of the interior construction progress.
